Shipwright Healthcare Group was founded and is managed by partners Andrew Stimmler and Steve Stonecypher as a specialty agency delivering strategic expertise in the US payer space for both early stage, emergent technologies along with more established organizations. Together, they develop technology road maps to market evaluation, assessment and deployment while also providing guidance centered on analyzing, advocating and enhancing reimbursement for emergent and mature healthcare providers. By evaluating individual client needs to support value proposition development, Shipwright Healthcare Group works closely with clients to tailor national level payer strategies as well as regional and state level market positioning and contractual administration.
Prior to Shipwright Healthcare Group, Andrew was a member of Aurora Diagnostics’ senior management team, serving as Vice President of Managed Care. In this role, he installed functional corporate managed care and credentialing departments while establishing standard, enterprise-wide protocols. He held complete oversight and responsibility of payer centric development, growth, negotiation and administration for 26 pathology entities across the US while also supporting due diligence for merger & acquisition activities. Andrew began his diagnostic career with Dianon Systems, transitioning into and eventually ascending to the role of Managed Care Executive, Northeast Region at Laboratory Corporation of America. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Pennsylvania State University.
Prior to Shipwright Healthcare Group, Steve held a senior management position with American Pathology Partners, developing and deploying a patient centric value based managed care market position. He also spent a number of years at Solstas Lab Partners, developing and implementing a managed care strategy for growth for a 500M company as well as beginning his career at LabCorp where he held various positions with increasing responsibility. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from California State University at Long Beach and a Master of Business Administration, Finance from Houston Baptist University.
